New Poetry!

I'm not sure why I'm inclined to share my poetry, but I've always felt free in sharing my inner thoughts to others via my writings. It's in that vain of thought I wish to speak. In the most recent website upgrade I've finally gotten around to publishing some of my more recent poetry. There are three poems in particular I'd like to speak about:

• "Klagenfurt",
• "Love's Folly",
• and "Introspection".

"Klagenfurt" is a very short, but very special poem to me. When I read it I am taken back to my desk in my little dormroom at the Mozart Heim in Klagenfurt. Let me explain the poem line-by-line.

• Line 1: My dormroom in the Mozart Heim had no air-conditioning and the tempurature would get into the 80s during the day. My desk set under two large windows. I would spend most afternoons sitting at my desk with the windows wide open and my fan on full blast as I studied.
• Line 2: Milkbread is a moist sourdough type bread. When it was very warm one could smell the yoghurt-like smell of the bread. It seemed to permiate the room on warm evenings.
• Line 3: One my first day in Klagenfurt I bought a little blue mug and an indexpensive matching plate at the grocery store because I had no dining ware at all in my apartment.
• Line 4: Klagunfurt was my first time outside of the US, my first time in a German-speaking country, and my first time traveling alone. It was truely my life's first adventure.

"Love's Folly" is the first sucessfuly poem of my new structure phase. It details my frustraitions with the single life wondering if I've missed love that could have been and if I'll ever know love's sweet song.

"Introspection" is a very personal poem I wrote in 2007. From 2007 to 2010 I had a time of spiritual struggle as I figured out what I belived and who I was. Luckly my prayer was answered and I found my way to Jesus Christ and His life-sustaining light.
