Ich wil verhörten das herz Pharaonis / Exo. 4.

Pharao hat sein herz verhert / Exodi. 8.

Dialog: That is a Harmonization of Conflicting Passages in Scripture, Chapter 21

I will harden the heart of Pharoah, Exodus 4.

Pharoah hardened his heart, Exodus 8.

Nothing is in conflict in these two sayings; the heart of Pharaoh is justly hardened by God and eventually no longer awakable. God gave him no new heart and did not take away his stoney heart, but rather he left him in his blindness so that he could manifest his glory to him. Therefore, don’t dwell on this point, you say; Pharoah hardened his heart or it was hardened per God’s council. Because what God does in us we also do. What the ax does, the carpenter does, too. (What the foreman does, his tools do as well.) That which he fires, he also works with. The hammer is forged with the backsmith. Both are true; the fire makes iron soft and the blacksmith makes the iron soft. Pahraoh was a vessel of wrath. Eventhough some of his wickedness was frightened by the miracles and signs, with time, he was soon again back to his ways. He did want to be carried to heart break, but his wickedness. His stoney heart was not taken from him. Instead, more and more, it was hardened. It didn’t move for miracles and signs. The nature of God, then, is that those who are godless are made more and more hardened, blinded, and evil. As the sun makes the beggars stink and those with bad eyes are indeed blind, is not the cause the eyes and beggars rather than the sun? So, God’s word is displeased at the ways of the godless where it shines on them and is of course the enemy of godless ways. Psalm 5; As the sun brings oder – which is natural for everyone – the word works the same way in him. Is he born of God and a Christian; then life and bliss are at work in him. Is he an Adam and not born again; then nothing works in him except death and damnation. As the sun softens wax, hardens clay, greens grass, and dries hay; and is still just the sun — working in everyone that which it is — and is the cause of all things without guilt.
