The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Waner was a very good book. The main characters in the book are Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny. They have ran away from their grandfather. The story starts off when the four children are at a bakery. The owner is inside the store watching them look through the window at the food. They enter and ask if they can stay for the night.
